SAATHI Kit - Losing a breast to cancer is not easy, but supporting those in need is!
<p>The news of being diagnosed with cancer can be devastating and if cancer is of the breast, it can become even more difficult to accept because of losing a breast and the social stigma attached with it. Surgery for breast cancer either leads to losing a breast or a part of it. To live with disfigurement can be a life long adjustment. This doesn't only lead to loss of confidence, depression, non acceptance of the disease/treatment but also physical pain in the back and neck area because of difference in weight on both sides of the chest. The treatment also leads to hair loss which unfortunately also adds to the social stigma. SAATHI Kit is an attempt to make this adjustment easier, and to try to bring a smile on the beautiful faces undergoing the treatment. The kits will be given free of charge to breast cancer patients who are from lower income strata.</p>
